Our dedicated staff volunteers play a crucial role in driving the mission and vision of Postperfusion Syndrome Society and Pumpheaders.org. Volunteers in various roles, including executive leadership, development, communications (social media), corporate relations, and education, contribute their expertise to key organizational initiatives. Responsibilities may include strategic planning, fundraising efforts, content creation, outreach activities, and volunteer management. We welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets who are committed to making a positive impact in the field of Postperfusion Syndrome.​

Preferred Characteristics: 

All volunteers are welcome and we highly encourage individuals who have personal experience with Postperfusion Syndrome to consider volunteering with us. Your firsthand experience can provide valuable insights and perspectives that will enhance our ability to support others facing similar challenges. Additionally, volunteers with professional experience in healthcare, nonprofit management, business development, or related fields are especially encouraged to apply.

Who Should Volunteer?
  • Those who have (or are) experiencing Postperfusion Syndrome and are at a place in their recovery seeking camaraderie and community while doing good

  • Kind-hearted individuals who are seeking the rewards that come with helping others

  • Folks with experience in personal or professional heart-related health care, heart disease, Postperfussion Syndrome, or other relative ailments 

  • Young professionals seeking hands-on experience and mentorship opportunities in the nonprofit sector

Most Immediate Volunteer Needs:
  1. Social Media Managers: We're seeking three dedicated individuals to oversee our social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Responsibilities include creating engaging content, interacting with followers, and implementing strategies to increase our visibility and reach.

  2. Forum Moderators: We're looking for four experienced moderators to engage with our online community and ensure that discussions remain informative, respectful, and on-topic. Moderators will monitor forum activity, answer questions, and foster a supportive environment for members.

  3. Development Expert: We need two development experts to help establish fundraising initiatives and secure financial support for Pumpheaders.org. This role involves identifying potential donors, developing fundraising campaigns, and building partnerships to sustain and grow our organization.

  4. Medical Advisory Board: We are looking to build a powerhouse medical advisory board consisting of distinguished medical professionals graciously willing to provide expert guidance and oversight to ensure the accuracy and relevance of medical information and resources provided on our platform. We are actively seeking medical professionals specializing in the fields of cardiology, pulmonology, psychology, anesthesiology, and other disciplines relevant to Postperfusion Syndrome to join our esteemed board. Members of the board collaborate closely with our team to review and approve content, offer insights into emerging research and treatment options, and provide valuable feedback to enhance the overall user experience. Ideal candidates for this role should have extensive clinical experience and a demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of individuals affected by Postperfusion Syndrome.​
